WHO:  Elisha Tan

WHAT: Alpha Asian’s Guide to the American Dream

WHERE: The Activist Kitchen, 669 N. Heliotrope Dr

WHY: Elisha is a fearless comedian. She shoots onstage like a lightning bolt. An assassin never missing her target.

I love a joke that leaves you no choice but to get out of your comfort zone. The jokes were funny, absurd, even filled with clues on how we must continue to dream.  A one hour set filled with jokes not to be dismissed for they are tangible enough to allow us to hear the seriousness of her journey, while threading and connecting us to her. I learned to listen. I learned through humor that friction and funny go hand & hand. I learned that although Elisha experienced hard times, that tested her faith. This show is a story about empowerment and the strange turns life takes us on.
