WHO: Gayathri Krishnakumar & Keya Kalyan

WHAT: Case Closed

WHERE: Upstairs @ El Centro, 1103B North El Centro Ave

WHY: A fun, absurd ride through a court case on who killed Bozo the Clown. A show where the actors are committed but don’t take themselves too seriously. Where perspective is skewed if you are not listening. Where the most surprising interactive element of all brings you back to reality: We, the audience, get to decide whether or not Bozo the Clown’s sister is guilty of his murder.

It starts ridiculously, and it continues to get out of control as each witness takes the stand. Yet, I was reminded of the importance of one’s civic duty, whether that be jury duty or having the courage to stand up for what is right and against what is wrong. To be able to discern between what is true, false, or self-serving. Now, more than ever, it seems to be a most valuable and earnest skill.

Watch this if you are looking for a fun, light-hearted show, full of laughs. A show where the entire ensemble comes to play, but asks you to decide what you stand for.
