Show Info

As part of L.A.’s largest celebration of performing arts, Rogue Machine Theatre presents plays that are new to Los Angeles. While focusing on social issues from female playwrights, offerings include the world premiere of The Pleasure Project by Ava Bogle and In the Valley of the Shadow by Katherine Cortex, the American premiere of The Interference by Lynda Radley, and the Los Angeles premiere of We Are Not These Hands by Sheila Callaghan.

Women, no longer timid about their right to freedom of speech and sexual expression, pose the question… can female sexuality save humanity? In their weekly Aliens Anonymous meeting, the group wonders “What do the humans have that could possibly be worth saving?” Paula, the sexiest of the aliens, knows the answer! “It’s the clitoris, the only organ in the human body designed solely for pleasure.” Skeptically they wonder, “Well then why isn’t the clitoris revered by all?” What follows is a hilarious, irreverent, and sensual romp exploring gender, masturbation, cunnilingus, Christianity & much more in a multimedia one-woman variety show that includes music, dance, lip syncing and, yes, donut holes.

“Anyone who is wondering if there’s a young audience for theatre need only to wander down the sidewalk on Santa Monica Blvd. in June. This is fasten-your-seatbelt theatre.” – John Perrin Flynn; Founding Artistic Director/Rogue Machine
