Show Info

Perimenoparty: the welcome party to a stage of live you can’t scape.

Perimenoparty is a hybrid solo performance developed in New York through a Fulbright Performing Arts Fellowship awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. Blending clown, physical theatre, improvisation, and stand-up, the piece transforms perimenopause—a culturally silenced transition—into an unexpected space of celebration.

Structured through three clown states (puberty, fertility, and perimenopause), the show moves across different stages of femininity with humor, discomfort, and emotional precision.

In The Waiting Room of Menopause, the performer embodies a series of characters representing the external noise imposed on women over 40: anti-aging culture, fitness pressure, wellness trends, and medicalization.

The piece shifts when she encounters her eight-year-old self—represented by a puppet—opening a space for radical self-acceptance and a redefinition of what it means to age.

Audience participation is essential. Spectators are invited onstage, blurring the line between witness and participant and turning the performance into a shared, unpredictable experience.

Perimenoparty is a 45-minute solo show currently in development at The Barrow Group in New York, where material is being tested in front of live audiences. The project is moving toward its full premiere, with plans for international touring.
