In 1895 New York, trans man Ambrose Carlton enters the Cercle Hermaphroditos, an underground social club for trans femmes. He has one goal in mind: to find a wife and true love, so they can play the roles expected of them in public while pursuing the life they want in private. But finding the proper match becomes more difficult than he expected, especially after the club is raided by police and the safe haven of the Cercle threatens to break apart for good. Join us for a staged reading of this hilarious love-letter to the trans community, based on true historical events!
