When you are hiding from your traumatic past, escaping your present by binging on Netflix and neuroses, how do you find your future? Through help, hope and healing can one woman find the road to her authentic self, or will she stay stuck on a loop of life’s left turns? Filled with multimedia, multiple characters and the love in the lyrics of Sara Bareilles’ music, Searching For Me In All The Wrong Places is the Soaring Solo Studios Stars Series 2025 winner of the Encore Award. This solo show is about the power of connection, the possibility of recovery and the peace found when one rediscovers their truth. This one woman’s healing journey takes her through her painful past of adoption, childhood wounds, sexual trauma, suicide, and her struggles with mental illness. She discovers ways to not hit her panic buttons, those coping mechanisms that don’t serve her anymore that only keep her small, quiet, and hidden when life becomes unsafe. Seeking to embrace “the me in her mess” through a few tears, a few laughs, and a few face plants along the way she works to reclaim her resiliency as she learns the search for self-love starts from within. And sometimes you must leave your life to get a life.

Half of all proceeds will be donated to the Pasadena Humane Society.
