Although this production is adapted from smatterings of Bram Stoker’s tale, Le Fanu’s Carmilla, reimagined myths and other dark folklore, The Rise and Fall of Dracula gives us a completely fresh story from a female perspective. This unique piece takes us back to the ancient roots of Dracula, slowly weaving the legend of the formidable, enigmatic spirit we have become so intrigued by. Themes of Power, Belief and Companionship run rampant throughout the production with powerfully haunting contemporary classical compositions and primal choreography. We follow familiar and not-so- familiar characters promenade-style throughout the space allowing ourselves to live within the world created by Melissa Ortiz (Writer/ Director), Cassandra Ambe (Choreographer/ Performer) and David Kayser (Composer). We witness Dracula’s transformation to vampire and become the reason for her rise to power over the centuries.

Run time: 75mins. *Please note the production requires audience mobility. The audience will be asked to walk and/or stand throughout. It is intended for audiences of 16 years of age or older.
