A series of play readings from 6 playwrights who were part of HUMANITAS’ Play LA Workshop, a year-long program that creates new plays from the ground up, and 2 HUMANITAS honorees in association with 6 of L.A.’s most celebrated theatres.
SATURDAY, APRIL 29TH

“THE BEAST” by Tatiana Suarez-Pico

In the distant future, five astronauts are sent to colonize a planet to ensure the survival of the human race. Their mission is put in danger when they find a new life form. This “minor complication” tests their relationships unleashing a terrible but hilarious series of events. They’re only human after all.

Alone, cement block wall stands in an empty lot in a dwindling suburb of Southern California. A group of locals have submitted it for consideration as an historical monument, but are derailed by mysterious graffiti that can’t seem to be painted over.
