Show Info
Home Girl is about a 30 something career girl who makes the trek home to throw a baby shower for her best friend. While home she discovers a stranger living with her mother, that the locals still reek of booze and bad attitudes, and that if she doesn’t do the sensible thing, like get married and have a kid- the whole world will likely forget about her.
Home Girl puts a spotlight on how these two women have grown apart, because of the miles that separate them and cultural ideals that shape them. Most importantly, it puts a magnifying glass on all the demands of young women today, that are still very present in global culture; make a baby, get married, and for gods sake, don’t get any HUGE ideas in your head, it will just complicate your life.
