THE TRAGEDY OF MEDUSA | Project Nongenue
Directed and Written by Olivia Buntaine
In The Tragedy of Medusa, this bold young ensemble queers Greek mythology and turns a questioning gaze on a mainstay of classical art. The romantic relationship between the goddess Athena and her human priestess, Medusa is complicated when the other gods find out and intervene. This nuanced and challenging retelling of the classical Medusa myth is poetic and fast-paced with contemporary language and moments of comedy. Content Note: sexual violence, discussion of rape (not shown onstage).
Dramaturg: Ariella Wolfe
Performers: Marie Osterman, Korama Danquah, Clint Blakely, Pat Buetow, Jake Dvorksy, Derya Derman & Kyra Morling
